George’s design-led portfolio spans listed buildings, bespoke rural homes, and commercial developments.
His work is shaped by longevity and place — drawing on a passion for heritage and an approach that favours natural materials and sustainability.
Having lived across Dorset, Somerset, and Devon, George brings a deep understanding of the South West’s architectural landscape. He spends his time outside the studio taking advantage of the areas walking routes.
Kim Bishop
Managing Director
A first-class Business Management graduate, Kim brings strategic clarity and operational leadership to Fable.
Her background in project management, market analysis, and client portfolio management provides the foundation for the studio’s steady direction — ensuring creativity is always supported by structure.
At weekends, she can be found exploring the South West in quiet pursuit of its best independent coffee shops.
James Harris
Director & Senior Architectural Technician
Leading with exceptional technical expertise, James specialises in detailing bespoke new homes and complex commercial projects.
His experience across all RIBA work stages ensures that each project is translated into clear, considered drawings and carefully detailed specifications.
Outside the studio, James enjoys time spent with his wife and two children — over a good film in the evening — or in the garden when the weather allows.
I can’t recommend this company highly enough. The team supported and steered us in our thoughts of how we wanted to develop our Grade II listed property – advising on what could be in scope to change and what was unlikely. They demonstrated extensive knowledge in Grade II listed properties – and in the local area, which proved invaluable in securing the planning permission we wanted. They were on hand whenever we needed clarification and the many (!) changes we made. The team were patient and understanding when we were unsure and provided plenty of ideas. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and will definitely utilise their services again.

Excellent service from the team at Fable – who have great communication skills. This is our first renovation project and as such we were a little apprehensive at the start. However, they quickly put us at ease, explaining the process clearly, whilst offering ideas and recommendations with prompt responses to queries and emails. A pleasure to work with.

From the moment we met the team, we felt in safe hands as we looked to get planning on our Grade II listed cottage and garage build in Devon. They approached the project sympathetically and worked seamlessly with the appropriate planners and officials to gain the required approvals. Working with Fable has resulted in a completely reconfigured downstairs, a double car port and more recently a loft conversion on my mother-in-laws bungalow.
